Evaluation Question 4
Who would be the audience for your media product?
After doing research on our film and our genre we found our main target audience could range from 16-30 year olds.
When doing our pitch to our class everyone said that they liked the idea of our film opening and would go to watch it, which shows that it appeals to both male and females as well as most teenagers This could be because of the fact that the main actors are young teenagers so they are more likely to watch it as they are similar ages, however because of the fact our opening is based on true events I think it widens our audience as it would appeal to older people who may have heard about the story before or are curious to find out what happened. Because it is based on true events in the UK it does mean that it would only appeal to British people and wouldn't do as well in somewhere like America which we'd have to keep in mind when it came to choosing a distributor. This widens our audience to UK families due to the regional identity.

Throughout our film opening we have constantly worked on our feedback to improve it as much as possible, taking on board what everyone has to say from camera work to sound, so that we can try and widen our audience as much as possible. Even though we couldn't really change the story as it was based on a real story we have tried to keep it as realistic as possible so that older people are more likely to want to watch it. As well as this it would also appeal to a younger audience due to the fact it is a modern interpretation.

Evaluation Question 2
How does your media product represent particular social groups?
In our film opening we have looked at two different social groups. The first group we are presenting are teenagers and how they are stereotypically shown in the media. They are presented as being lazy and moody who can't keep jobs so instead go round causing trouble. However we have challenged this stereotype in our own opening as presenting all three teenagers as active and our main actor (Genette) is doing a paper round and can hold a job.

Because our film opening was based on a true event and the supposed kidnapper Robert Black was a middle aged man we had to stick to this, however this is stereotypical as in crime dramas they usually play the bad person or killer. Middle aged men are usually presented as being grumpy and boring.
